William Eggleston

William Eggleston was born on July 27, 1939 in Memphis, TN. Eggleston's greatest achievements lies in his pursuit to capture the American South. This resulted in Eggleston becoming one of the most influential photographers of the late 20th century. Eggleston experimented a lot with colored film, which was less heard of at the time in the world of professional photography. After a time of criticism by senior photographers such as Ansel Adams Eggleston went on to publish several important photo books, such as The Democratic Forest and influenced a new age of photography.
