Andy Warhol
Though he is more known for his art work, Andy Warhol was almost never without a camera. He took pictures at discos, dinners, flea markets and even wrestling matches. Everyone notices Warhol's attention-at least the moment he sees through the lens: friends, boyfriends, business partners, social people, celebrities, passers-by. To some extent, Warhol's daily photography habits predict our current smartphone habits-we need to record our friends, family, and food. Warhol printed only about 17% of the 130,000 exposures he left in contact form. In 2014, Stanford University's Cantor Center received 3,600 contact sheets from the Warhol Foundation.
